Damen River Rescue Ferry 1605 - BN 571606 - Gorinchem X
On the 7th of July it was time to hand over the
"Gorinchem X". Damen Shipyards Hardinxveld
delivered the Damen River Rescue Ferry 1605 to
the town of Gorinchem.
The very unique vessel is to be used as
ferry / taxi services as well as fire fighting vessel
and has a speed of approx. 40 km/hr.
In May 2007 Damen Shipyards Hardinxveld delivered the two Skimmers to Thames Water Utilities Ltd. The Skimmers are going to improve the quality of the water in the River Thames.
In March 2007 Damen Shipyards Hardinxveld delivered six so called RIB's (rigid inflatable Boats) to the Royal Dutch Navy. These boats, to be used to assist the LPD and the LCF fregats, are equipped with an inboard engine and waterjet. Resulting in a speed of 30 knots.
